Un nouveau né est arrivé. Le Contrôleur de palans Digital (DHC). Avec cet équipement à la fine pointe de la technologie en matière d'accrochage, vous pouvez contrôler jusqu'à 450 palans soit regroupés ou individuellement. Le câblage utilisé est un XLR6 qui peut mesurer jusque 500' de long! De cette façon, vous avec une RÉELLE liberté de mouvements. Le DHC peut également se raccorder très facilement à votre équipement actuel. En effet, le DHC-48 tel que montré ci-haut, peut se brancher sur 6x SD-800 avec nos connecteurs standard Tajimi 21. Le contrôle à distance, le PRC-48, va activer les palans branché sur les 6 distributrices de courant (SD-800). |

Le ACS est un nouveau concept utilisant des palans électriques à chaîne pour lever des rideaux permettant de créer un effet d'intimité ou de créer un ambiance de Grande Salle ou de théâtre. Show Distribution peut installer un ACS dans n'importe quel Aréna ou centre sportif. Plusieurs options sont disponibles telles que les Trolleys pour offrir une liberté de mouvements latéraux. |

| Les Red Hot Chili Peppers font une tournées au travers le Japon, la Nouvelle-Zélande, L'Europe et l'Australie. Étant un groupe de musique qui bouge, L'équipe d'éclairage voulait un système qui reflétait le style du groupe. C'est à ce moment que les VarioLifts entrent en scène.
5 ponts de 20' de long sont suspendus avec 4 Studio Beam "Moving Lights", 3 Atomic 3000 avec changeur de couleurs et un SuperCyc de Coemar d'une puissance de 2400W. Sur chacun des "Fingers". |
Les VarioLifts permettent un changement de positions des "Fingers" extrêmement rapide puisqu’ils peuvent aller jusqu'à 95'/min, offrant différentes "formes" pour l'éclairage. Les moteurs sont contrôlés par DMX directement par la console d'éclairage permettant de synchroniser la position des "Fingers" avec celle du système d'éclairage.

| Encore une fois, l'équipe du Black & Blue voulaient épater la foule qui sont surpris à chaque année par un concept innovateur et hors de l'ordinaire. Cette année, ce fut un système motorisé ChainMaster qui fut l'une des attractions principale du spectacle. En effet, nous avons utilisé deux rails de 180' sur lesquels étaient attachés 4 VarioTrolleys et 2 chariots manuels permettant d'accrocher 4 VarioLifts 1 Tonne en forme de cube.
Sous les 4 VarioLifts, nous avons suspendu un cube pesant plus de 2 tonnes. Ce cube en question était équipé d'une scène pivotante où performaient des artistes. Le cube, caché derrière un écran géant suspendu sous 2x VarioLifts 500Kg, s'élevait du sol, l'écran s'abbaissait, le cube passait au dessus de la scène VIP, passait au dessus de la foule et allait flotter à quelques centimètres au dessus de la scène principale. |
Sous les deux autres VarioTrolleys, un VarioLift 250Kg était suspendu transportant tantôt des Drag-Queens, tantôt des acrobates.

Show Distribution est fier d'annoncer que Robert (Bob) Bélanger s'est joint à l'équipe et sera le nouveau directeur des ventes. M. Bélanger a acquis plus de 10 ans d'expérience dans les ventes et les relations publiques envers les produits d'outillages industriels. Il était également en charge de la formation technique sur les équipements spécialisés. Entre-temps, pour deux ans, M. Bélanger possédait une compagnie de production pour laquelle il coordonnait tous les aspects reliés à la production de spectacles Rock. |
Dans sa nouvelle position, Mr. Bélanger travaillera étroitement avec Jacques Tanguay, le président, pour répandre notre représentation au travers L'Amérique

Blink 182 est toujours à la recherche de quelque chose de nouveau et qui sort de l'ordinaire pour leurs tournées. Le concepteur de production, Doug Brant aussi connu comme "Spike" de Art Fag Inc. est tout ce qui touche à ce qui sort de l'ordinaire. Combiné avec Ed and Ted's Excellent Lighting, qui ont été le fournisseur d'éclairage de Blink pour les 2 dernières années, le groupe savaient qu'ils étaient parti pour un concept créatif. “The challenge was to recreate a moving lighting rig without having it looking like the old “heavy metal” days.” says J.R. Edgington, Vice President of touring at Ed and Ted. “The design is a sort of big Metal parody... The band just wanted a crazy light show, no set...” adds Spike. One answer to that was to disperse the moving parts over the stage area and have them move in quick fluid movements versus the large slow moving truss pods and fingers. “Given these parameters, some time was spent in the shop for a few experiments.” says Edgington. The experiment that worked the best was a combination of steel wire rope with rungs. The rungs interspaced along the length of steel allowed for the hanging of moving lights.

This created a trapeze looking device that was very flexible. Combined with a quick moving motor system (eighteen 1/ ton VarioLifts were used), it resulted in some really drastic and unusual shapes. With this design, it was possible to eliminate the massive look of the truss, creating a sort of “3-D floating effect” for the moving lights. “The VarioLifts chain hoists can go really fast (from 8’/min to 110’/min), are very quiet and reliable.” adds Edgington. Accelerations and decelerations can be fully controlled to create the fluidity required. The computer control system can also be triggered by a DMX signal from a lighting board. In this case, a HOG II is used by LD Nathan Wilson. “There was a lot of custom hardware involved and specialty rigging, which Ed and Ted’s designed and manufactured, with the end result being something truly new and innovative for both Blink 182 and Spike.” concludes Edgington. |

Tournée Matchbox Twenty 2001: plus de VarioLifts ajoutés pour la dernière "Leg" de la tournée (Juillet 2001) Lighting Designer Marc Brickman has selected the ChainMaster VarioLifts chain hoists and controllers for the 2001 Matchbox Twenty Tour, starting on March 5.
The rig includes fourteen 500 kg and six 250 kg VBG-8 VarioLifts chain hoists (8' to 95'/min.) to move vertical pods up and down... Look for details on the June 2001 edition of Lighting Dimension.
For the last part of the tour, debuting at the end of July, the designer decided to add 12 more VarioLifts.

La tournée Mondiale U2 "Elevation" (Mars 2001) Lighting Designer Willy Williams and Lighting Director Bruce Ramus have selected ChainMaster VarioLift chain hoists and controllers for the U2 Elevation Tour 2001, starting on March 24. They use seven of the brand new 1 ton VarioLifts motors from Show Distribution on the Elevation World Tour. The motors move truss sections with truss-spots operators during the show, using them as a part of the set. These motors are the first ones to allow -a fully controllable- variable speed with a 1 ton load. They provide a 12 times safety factor and are equipped with load cells for under-load and overload protection. With the deceleration before the stop, everybody is in for a smooth ride. |

La première du film Pearl Harbour à Hawaii (Mai 2001) Photo Album Show Distribution was moving the huge screen (80' x 40' approx.) on which the Pearl Harbor movie was presented at the Premiere in Hawaii. It took only two hours to install the seven VarioLifts chain hoists used to move the screen from its horizontal position hidden in the roof to its vertical position in the front of the stage. After trying a couple of different speed and deceleration parameters, the cue was recorded, ready to go, in perfect sync with the music.

Jacques Tanguay reçoit un "Solo Award" pour ses trente années de contribution au monde du show business (Décembre 2000) On December 21, 2000, Mr. Jacques Tanguay won the 2000 Solo Award for its 30-year contribution to Quebec show business industry as a stage lighting expert. This ultimate tribute to his sense of innovation and development was made to him during the first edition of the Solo Award Ceremony, that was organized by Solotech, a well-established stage lighting and sound company located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Introducing new lighting products from Europe and elsewhere and revolutionary lighting techniques in Quebec has driven him to work in the greatest concert halls on remarkable high-level tours with prestigious performers such as Ann Murray, April Wine, etc. Mr. Tanguay is now president of Show Distribution Group Inc., a rigging company which is located in Sainte-Foy, Quebec, Canada, and the exclusive distributor of ChainMaster chain hoists and controllers in North America.
